Adding and Editing Daily Log Entries
This page walks you through the full process of creating and editing daily log entries in PepTrac. Every step and field is described as it appears in the app, so you know exactly what to expect.
Opening the Entry Form
To add a new entry, tap the “+” button in the top right of the Daily Logs screen, or use Quick Add in the bottom navigation. To edit an existing entry, tap any log row to open its detail view, then tap “Edit.”
The entry form will slide up as a sheet, showing all the fields you can fill out or change.
Entry Fields and Options
Label
Choose a label for your entry, such as Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Before Shot, After Shot, or Custom. If you select Custom, you can type your own label.
Date and Time
The entry defaults to the current date and time. You can tap the date or time to change it if you’re logging for a different moment.
Metrics
All enabled metrics appear in this section. Each metric shows its name and input type. For scale metrics, use a slider or stepper (for example, Mood 1–10). For measurement metrics, enter a number, with units if applicable (such as Weight in lbs or kg). Boolean metrics use a toggle switch (for example, “Did you exercise?”). Only metrics you’ve enabled in settings are shown. If you leave a metric blank, it won’t be saved for this entry.
Symptoms
All enabled symptoms appear, each with its input type. Severity symptoms use a 0–5 scale by default. Some symptoms may use a custom scale if configured. Boolean symptoms use a Yes/No toggle. Only symptoms you’ve enabled in settings are shown. You can skip symptoms you don’t want to log for this entry.
Notes
Tap to expand the notes field and enter any extra details, context, or observations. Notes are optional, but can be helpful for tracking things not covered by metrics or symptoms.
Entering Data and Saving
Fill in as many or as few fields as you like. Only entered values are saved. Required fields: At minimum, you need a label and a date/time (defaults are provided). When you’re done, tap Save. Your entry will appear in the Daily Logs view, grouped by date. If you edit an entry, changes are saved immediately after you tap Save.
Tips and Warnings
If you haven’t configured any metrics or symptoms, you’ll see a note with instructions to set them up in Settings before you can log entries. If you try to save without a label or date, the app will prompt you to complete those fields. You can always go back and edit or delete any entry later. The notes field can be expanded for longer text, but is always optional.
What Happens Next?
After saving, your entry is stored locally and appears instantly in your log list or calendar. You can search, filter, and review your entries at any time.
If you want to customize which metrics and symptoms appear in the form, see Configuring Metrics & Symptoms.
