Preparations View
The Preparations View is your central hub for managing all vials and pens you've configured in PepTrac. From this screen, you can view an overview of each saved preparation—including its container type, peptides, BAC water amount, delivery units, and creation date. You can also filter and sort your list by type or alphabetically, quickly add new preparations, or delete those you no longer need.
Overview
When you open the Preparations tab, all of your saved preparations appear as cards organized alphabetically.
To create a new preparation, tap the plus (+) button in the top-right corner.
You can also add a preparation during protocol setup by tapping Add New Preparation within the peptide picker.
Preparation Cards
Each preparation appears as a card summarizing its key details and providing quick access to common actions.
Each card displays:
- Container Type Icon – A vial or pen icon that visually identifies the container type.
- Preparation Name – The descriptive label you created (e.g., Semaglutide Vial 1, Recovery Stack).
- Creation Date – Indicates when the preparation was originally created.
- Protocol Association – If the preparation is linked to a protocol, the protocol name appears here.
- Peptides List – Shows each included peptide and its total amount.
- Reconstitution Details – Displays the BAC water amount used and the selected delivery unit (mL, Units, or IU).
- Quick Action Buttons – Includes a Delete icon for immediate removal, when allowed by protocol assignment rules.
Visual Indicators
Each preparation includes clear visual markers for quick identification:
- Vial icon – Indicates a traditional vial-based preparation.
- Pen icon – Indicates a cartridge-style injector preparation.
Preparation Card Actions
Each card includes one direct action button: the trash icon for deleting a preparation.
Tapping anywhere else on the card opens the full preparation view, where you can edit details, save a copy, or delete the preparation.
Delete (Trash Icon)
Tap the trash icon on a preparation card to delete that preparation.
Deletion permanently removes the preparation configuration from PepTrac, but all completed shot data associated with it remains preserved in your historical records.
Deletion Rules:
- Preparations assigned to an active protocol cannot be deleted.
- To delete a preparation currently associated with a protocol, you must first remove it from that protocol.
- Because every protocol must contain at least one peptide or preparation, you'll need to add a replacement peptide or preparation before saving your protocol changes.
- Deletion cannot be undone. PepTrac will prompt you to confirm before the preparation is permanently removed.
Save as Copy
Use Save as Copy when you want to create a new preparation based on an existing one. This creates a separate, editable version that you can modify and save without affecting the original.
The Copy function is especially useful when you need to change the actual peptides included in a preparation—for example, adding a new peptide to a blend or removing one from it.
You can still update vial counts or peptide amounts for existing preparations at any time using Update Preparation. But when the peptide composition itself changes, Save as Copy ensures your new version is treated as a separate preparation while preserving all historical data for the original.
Delete
Removes the preparation configuration permanently. Completed shot data associated with that preparation remains in your history.
Rules:
- Preparations assigned to active protocols cannot be deleted.
- Deletion is irreversible; PepTrac will prompt for confirmation before proceeding.
Sorting and Filtering
You can organize your preparations list to quickly locate what you need.
Filtering Options:
- Type – Filter preparations by container type (Vial or Pen).
Sorting Options:
- Alphabetical (A–Z) – Sorts preparations by name.
- Creation Date – Sorts by when each preparation was created.
- Type – Groups preparations by container type (Vial or Pen).
Sorting and filtering can be used together for precise control when managing larger preparation lists.
Best Practices
- Use descriptive names (add date or batch info) to avoid confusion between similar preparations.
- Review regularly to remove outdated or unused items.
Summary
The Preparations View gives you full control over your configured vials and pens. You can edit, duplicate, or delete directly from each card while keeping all dosing and historical data accurate. Sorting, filtering, and visual indicators make it easy to locate and manage preparations confidently—ensuring your protocol data stays clean, accurate, and up to date.
