Protocols View

The Protocols view is your main dashboard for managing all your treatment plans in PepTrac. Here, you can review, edit, archive, or delete your protocols, and see all the details of your therapy schedules in one place.

Overview

When you open the Protocols screen, you’ll see your treatment plans displayed as cards. By default, only active protocols are shown. If you want to see archived (paused or completed) protocols as well, you can uncheck the "Active only" box at the top of the screen. This helps you focus on what’s current, while still giving you access to your full protocol history.

To create a new protocol, tap the plus (+) button in the top-right corner. You can also use the quick-add plus (+) button in the bottom navigation bar for even faster access. Both options open a form where you can enter the details for a new treatment plan.

What’s on a Protocol Card?

Each protocol appears as a card summarizing its key details and giving you quick access to actions.

Card Header

At the top of the card, you'll see the protocol's name and its current status (Active or Archived).

If the protocol has Auto-Renew enabled, an Auto-Renew badge appears with a cycling arrows icon. This tells you at a glance that the protocol will repeat in cycles rather than ending on a fixed date.

Dates and Cycle Information

The card displays the start and end dates for the protocol. For auto-renew protocols past cycle 1, the dates reflect the current cycle — not the original. You'll also see:

  • "First started [original date]" — so you always know when you originally began
  • "Cycle [N]" — which cycle you're in (Cycle 2, Cycle 3, etc.)

If you previously disabled auto-renew on a protocol that was in cycle 2 or later, the card still shows the frozen cycle number and dates so you know when this protocol actually ends.

"Ending Soon" Badge

A yellow warning badge appears near the top of the card when a non-auto-renew protocol is approaching its end date. This gives you time to plan ahead — whether that means extending the protocol, starting a new one, or preparing a refill.

How early the badge appears depends on the protocol's duration — shorter protocols get a shorter warning, longer ones get more notice. For example, a 30-day protocol shows the badge during the last 5 days, while a 7-day protocol shows it on the last day. The warning never exceeds 14 days. The badge does not appear for auto-renew protocols (since they cycle automatically), freeform protocols, or archived protocols.

Peptide Details

Below the header, you'll find a list of all peptides included in the protocol. For each peptide, the card shows its name, dosage, and how often you take it. If the protocol is structured, you'll also see the week and day patterns (such as "2 weeks on, 1 week off"), as well as the specific times for each dose. Advanced features like Peptide Level Tracking thresholds, injection site rotation, metabolism adjustments, and reminders are shown when configured.

Action Buttons

At the bottom of each card, you'll find action buttons. You can edit the protocol, archive or activate it, or delete it entirely. All these actions are available directly from the card—there's no need to open a separate detail view.

Protocol Card Actions: What Each Button Does

Each protocol card includes action buttons that let you manage your treatment plans directly from the list. Here’s what each button does:

Edit

Tap the Edit button to open the protocol form with all the current details filled in. You can update any part of your protocol—such as the name, peptides, schedule, or settings. Saving your changes will update the protocol. Editing does not affect your protocol’s history or scheduled shots unless you change the schedule or peptide details.

Archive

The Archive button pauses the protocol. All future shots and reminders for that protocol are cancelled, but your history and past data are preserved. The protocol moves to the archived section of the list. Archiving is useful if you want to stop a protocol temporarily without losing any information.

Activate

If a protocol is archived, you'll see an Activate button instead. Tapping Activate brings the protocol back. Your original start date is preserved — PepTrac doesn't silently reset it to today. For auto-renew protocols, cycle math picks up where it left off based on the elapsed time, so you'll land in the correct cycle. Shots and reminders are generated for the current cycle.

Delete

The Delete button permanently removes the protocol and all of its shots — past completed shots, future scheduled shots, missed shots, skipped shots, everything. There is no way to keep your shot history and delete just the protocol. If you want to stop a protocol but preserve your records, use Archive instead. Daily logs are not affected by deletion.

Warning: Deleting a protocol is permanent and cannot be undone.

Freeform vs. Structured Protocols

PepTrac supports two types of protocols, and the Protocols view makes it easy to tell them apart.

Structured protocols have a defined schedule, with week and day patterns, progress tracking, and an optional auto-renewal feature. These protocols show more detailed information on their cards, including calculated end dates and progress through the schedule. For structured protocols, each scheduled dose or shot appears in your shots list. You can mark these as completed, missed, or skipped. If you take a dose outside the scheduled time, you can also add an unscheduled shot—giving you flexibility to accurately track your real-world usage. You are never forced to follow the schedule exactly; PepTrac lets you record your therapy as it actually happens.

Freeform protocols are designed for manual logging. They don’t have a fixed schedule, so you log shots as you take them, whenever you need. This is ideal for therapies that don’t follow a strict routine. Freeform protocols are marked with a “Freeform” badge and focus on peptide information, with minimal scheduling details. You can add as many shots as you need, at any time, and each will be recorded in your history.

Both protocol types allow you to keep a complete and accurate record of your therapy, whether you follow a strict schedule or need maximum flexibility. Structured protocols provide reminders and progress tracking, while freeform protocols give you total control over when and how you log your doses.

Adding Shots: Peptide Must Be in the Protocol

To add a shot to any protocol—whether structured or freeform—the peptide must first be included in that protocol. If you want to log a dose for a new peptide, edit the protocol to add the peptide before logging your shot.

Organizing and Managing Protocols

Active protocols always appear first in the list, followed by archived protocols. Within each group, protocols are sorted alphabetically by name.

If you have protocols but they're all archived, and the "Active only" filter is checked, you'll see a "No Active Protocols" message with a hint to uncheck "Active only" to see your archived protocols. If you haven't created any protocols at all, you'll see a "No Protocols Yet" welcome screen with an overview of what protocols can do and a link to the Help Center.

Editing, archiving, activating, and deleting protocols are all done directly from the protocol cards. See Protocol Card Actions above for details on each.

Summary

The Protocols view gives you immediate visibility and control over your treatment plans. Each card provides a clear overview of your protocols, with all the details and actions you need in one place. Whether you use structured or freeform protocols, you’ll find it easy to manage your therapy schedules in PepTrac.
